Calibre Control International is a trusted name in the industries we serve and the instrumentation we supply, amongst which is our hygiene validation offering. Our instrumentation is in use at some of the largest food processors, hospitality groups and health facilities both locally and globally.
We were recently sent a pack of Veraco Safe Touch Pads to validate inhouse, assessing their effectiveness in reducing the spread of micro-organisms via high touch areas.
We fitted door push pads to a single side of 2 doors and fitted door handle covers on
alternate sides of 2 doors. The product was then monitored over the period of a month. The method of testing was our Pocket Swab range, run on a novaLUM-IIX ATP reader (gold standard ATP).
The Veraco Push Pads and Door Handle Wraps all had similar and consistent results at all test times, these results ranged from 0 to 10 RLU on all, at any point during the trial.
The non-padded/wrapped surfaces all had significantly higher results even directly after cleaning. A notable trend was these non-safe Padded surfaces becoming compound contaminated the further they were from their last clean.
Unwrapped door handles had an RLU range of between 300 and 300 000, these results were dependant on their location and when they were last cleaned and sanitised. Our s/steel push plates on the swing doors without Veraco Safe Pads ranged between 100 to 200 000 RU, these results were again, dependent on their location and last cleaning/sanitising.
We have now fitted the range to the corresponding sides of the doors and can confidently recommend the Veraco Range.
